The other parts of the Globe today....

Merry Christmas Everyone!

There is nothing that our Kim Holmes loves better than
the Christmas Season up in the Pacific Northwest of the USA!

It is a time for celebrating her family
and all the gifts that she has been blessed with
and she says there is quite a few!  The Christmas season
at her house is all about spending time together, relaxing and
enjoying each others company.  They spend days baking,
creating and decorating in preparation for Christmas Day.

As you can see we have quite a group of children
and when you add in all the significant others-
the house is really overflowing with laughter and joy!

Our second designer today is our Rita Barakat.  She has
been married to her wonderful husband for 19 years and
before she had children she painted life size murals.  But now
she is blessed to be a SAHM to five beautiful children ages 18
and down to 5.  Her talents are all in the fine arts and she also
directs a youth choir and drama team.  And she even sings!

At the Barakat home in Colorado (USA) they celebrate the Holidays
by decorating the house and tree, wrapping presents and all
of them participating in musicals at the church.  The whole
family sings and acts!  They also love making gingerbread houses
and making cookies!  She loves the feeling of Christmas and
says that a little snow doesn't hurt either!

Our next designer is our Jona Saavedra from the Philippines.
She is a working mom to her 5 year old son Zid and married to
a photo enthusiast (Glen) who lovingly supports her addiction
to scrapbooking.  She says that scrapbooking is therapy to her
and a great outlet to relieve stress!!  It gives her so much joy
when her family and friends appreciate her works of art :)
She also loves to bake, decorate cakes and go diving!

And in the Philippines she celebrates the
Holiday by going out of town somewhere special.
They go to a special Mass the night before
and then a simple dinner afterwards.

On Christmas morning everyone celebrates with the kids
as they open their gifts and then everyone goes
out sightseeing and they take lots of photos!

And now we go down under to  Brisbane, Australia where
like the Philippines it is summer for Christmas!
Our Alicia Barry is a teacher when she is not a mom
and wife to her 3 kids and husband.  She loves scrapbooking
and loves to create amazing projects out of paper. She loves
photography and likes decorating cakes too!

For their Christmas Holiday they spend lots of time
with family, visits with Santa and a huge BBQ
on Christmas Day eating Shrimp and Chicken.
They have a wonderful meal on Christmas Eve too with
a delicious Aussie traditional sticky date pudding called Pavlova.

and lastly we head all the way up to California (USA)
to see our Julie Walton.  She has lived in So. Cal all but
3 years of her life and is mom to 3 grown girls and 3 grandkids,
ages 6,5, and 4 and they are what consume her life for the past 6 years.
She cares for them daily and they are the passion for which her
passion for scrapbooking grew.  She loves to take pictures and
scrapbooking seemed the perfect solution.  In this world she says that
she loves the fact that she gets to meet so many wonderful people online
that she probably would never have met otherwise and it's even better
when she gets to catch up with them in person. She also loves to
read and take long walks on the beach and collect treasures, rain or shine!
So in California, Julie says that one of her favorite traditions is to go
to her Mom's house and eat the best lasagna ever made by her Dad.
Sadly Julie lost her dad this year because of illness but says
that they will try to keep the tradition going!
Her other favorite tradition is taking photos of her grandkids
in Santa hats.  They love posing for the photos!!

So from all of us at Best Creation to all of you
we would like to wish you a

Very Merry Christmas
and a very Happy New Year!!!

Christmas around with globe with our Design Team

We are very blessed here at Best Creation to have a
wonderful Design Team full of talented and amazing
women, wives and moms that create beautiful projects
for both us and you to get inspired by each week.

So we want to take this week to celebrate them
and....
we asked them to share a little about themselves and
a little about what they do in their part of the world
to celebrate Christmas to share with all of you!!

Our first designer is Katarina and is from Finland where she lives on
one of the Aland Islands in the Baltic Sea Archipelago.
She is a teacher in a nine year compulsory school and
works with the second grade students and is also the
Deputy School Superintendent of the school.  She has
2 children (a boy and a girl) and says that they are her
gems in her treasure box!  And of course she has a
husband who supports her in her scrappy world...
Katarina says that in Finland where she lives
they celebrate 2 kinds of Christmas.  First the little
Christmas Eve, at the night before the first of Advent.
They have a small tree and get a few presents and
eat a few of their favorite dishes from the Christmas table.
The real celebration starts on Dec 23rd with the whole family
getting the Christmas tree that they bring home together and decorate.
And when that is done, she tries to get the yearly
picture of the kids :) and she says it is not an easy task
with her little goofballs!
and the 24th is the day that they know if Santa thinks they
are naughty or nice and she says that they are always nice to Santa :)

Our next designer is Petra and some of you may know her
as Pysselpetra on the internet.  She lives in Malmo, Sweden with
her 3 kids (Alva, Teo & Love) and her 2 cats (Busan & Cosinus).
And of course a dear husband who supports her creative hobby too!

She started scrapbooking when she had her oldest and loves
to mostly do pages.  What I love about her is that she shares
the love of this hobby with all of us and you can relate when
she says that when she finds well coordinated papers in beautiful
colors it makes her heart beat a little faster!!
Lastly the best way to describe her as an artist is that she
paints, she mists, she tears, she cuts and she punches
all to create beautiful layouts to share with her family
for generations to come!!

So in Sweden they celebrate on Christmas Eve the 24th.
At her home, when the children wake up there is a thread going
through the house with presents along it and in the end they
get a bigger gift.  If they are lucky and there is lots of snow
everyone goes outside and makes snow lights and then about 2 o'clock
in the afternoon they eat the traditional christmas meal- a great
Smorgasborg of many, many different dishes.
After dinner they watch a traditional Walt Disney movie
with the entire family that Petra and her husband have watched
since they were little kids.  And then it is time for Santa to arrive...
and he brings lots of gifts for the kids and they spend the rest
of the night playing and the parents relax drinking Glogg.
On the 25th they enjoy the peace and quiet after the celebration!!

Our Tracey Taylor lives on the East Coast of Canada
with her wonderful husband and three daughters.
She is a French Teacher by profession and now stays
at home to be mom to her daughters!
Her once small hobby has turned into a full blown passion
now for her girls and says that this wonderful hobby keeps
her learning, working and teaching all the while she preserves
all the everyday moments that make their lives special.  She says
she loves every minute of it!

In her neck of the woods, Tracey and her family start to
get the Christmas preparations ready after Halloween since
they celebrate their Thanksgiving in October.
Decorating her house for Christmas is a tradition that she
looks forward to every year and they have several Christmas's
between Christmas and New Years's as she celebrates with
both sides of her family!
She says it is a wonderful time spent with family and
friends and wouldn't change it for anything.

Our last designer is our Karen Thind and is also
from Canada but closer to the west coast!

She says that her Christmas is all about spending time
with family.  She loves having time off work and school
so that they all can relax, hang out and go do things as
a family.  They also spend lots of time with grandparents
and cousins and they too love to put up lots of lights and
visit with Santa Claus.

From all of them- they want to wish all of you a
 Very Merry Christmas Holiday Season!

and don't forget to check back to see more
of our special holidays spent with all
of our designers across the globe this week.

Our 10 days of Christmas ideas

designer: Kim Holmes

We have lots of ideas to share with all of you today to make
some quick and easy gifts for family and friends without
the stress of holiday shopping!

And.....
even a few decorations you can do with the kids
when they are out of school next week!

designer: Rita Barakat

Rita made this adorable wall-hanging from our winter
papers and we thought it was such a cute idea to hang the chipboard
embellishments from the bottom and also the way she used
all the ribbons on the handle to hang it up!

This is one adorable idea to give to someone as
a gift that they can use also after the holidays
as a beautiful decoration for their home.
Lots of great details!!

designer: Alicia Barry

You can hand cut all your own flowers so that they
match perfectly with your project.

Guest designer: Sarah Mullanix

Sarah made this cute decorative star with our
glitter cardstock. She added some ribbons and
hand cut the tiny little bead like decore from our
paper and for a finishing touch added a second star with
tiny little music notes.

designer: Julie Walton

You can create this banner easy by just cutting out the banner shape
in our glittery papers and then adding netting, tiny paper ornaments
and letters that say BELIEVE
and popping it up with dots. She finished it off
by stringing a row of pearls through the whole thing and
adding more pretty flowers and ribbon at the ends.

designer: Petra Offrell

You can make this fun star garland by cutting up lots of
stars in different colors and patterns (like below)
and sewing 2 of them together about 2"apart and then
gently folding them open. This would be super cute to do
as a garland on your Christmas tree too!

designer: Katarina Damm

Simple gifts for friends and family can be made
with all kinds of things laying around the house.
You can create beautiful decorated bags to give gifts in
or put something homemade in from your family.

This is a great idea for someone who uses lots paper pads.
It's quick and easy and you can make them in lots of patterns.
You simply measure the top of a plastic photo holder and
make a decorated piece to fit inside like the pink one.
Tie lots of fun ribbons and embellishments on the top
and add a coordinating notepad. The pen you can buy
and add coordinating paper inside of it!

Guest Designer: Sarah Mullanix

We also created lots of handmade tags to use
for all the gifts you are giving or even bag up
a few and give them as a gift for someone!

designer: Petra Offrell

Don't you love the idea of all this silver and the
cool blues of our winter papers. Adding lots
of fun trims, netting and lace can really make
the tags look super cute!

designer: Natalie Dever

designer: Tracey Taylor

designer: Ann-Katrin

If you want to give a little something special
you can decorate a Special Candy with lots of
papers and embellishments
or even make a cute little pyramid box
and put some special treats inside the bottom
with a special message on the top!

designer: Teresa Horner

designer: Teresa Horner

You can make fun purse bags to put a set of
cards in or give special treats you made or even
a special gift that will fit snugly inside!

Thanks to all of you who stopped by!
Have a great weekend and hope you
create something fun!!

HO HO HO Merry Christmas!

We at B.C. can't think of anything more
fun or festive at Christmas
than taking photos with cute little Santa hats
or taking them with Santa himself.
As far as traditions go this is probably one
of the ones that you will have the opportunity to scrap
year after year and be able to look
back someday at all the fun photos that you took that
will make you laugh and remember
all the fun that you had for holidays past!

Guest Designer: Sarah Mullanix

This layout is filled with lots of color, glitter and
patterned papers that will definitely get you in the holiday spirit!

You can create cute glittery pinwheels with the
new die cut from Sizzix or even cut an fold your own
and decorate them with fun stickers, buttons or epoxy dots.

This picture shows how well our papers both new
and old compliment each other and will mix
time and again to create beautiful layouts
and projects for family and friends.

designer: Kim Holmes

Don't forget to take lots of family photos too!
Maybe even create a fun mini book to hold the photos
you've taken each year so that you can see them altogether
or make up some to give as gifts.

Designer: Katarina Damm

translated it means
"Santa is just a little bit scary"

A visit from Santa as faraway as Norway (above)
or below all the way to Australia is
a magical day for any child at Christmas!
So don't forget to take lots of pictures
and journal them with what happened before
during and after the special visit they had with Santa.
Someday it will be priceless to you and to them :)

Designer: Alicia Barry

Non traditional colors work beautifully in this layout
if you mix and match the prints just right..
Our Christmas Collection this year
is filled with lots of pinks, purples, greens and burgundy.

This cute album would be adorable to make up to
keep special memories of Christmas. Maybe recipes
of a special dinner, Christmas lights in your town or maybe even
a record of all the Christmas shows on TV that everyone
watched this year together.

Designer: Tina Guigui

Tina's book is also super cute and she used hers for her
family to record fun events they did during the holiday season.

We hoped you enjoyed our day filled with Santa ideas
and don't forget to check back for our 12 days of Christmas
gift ideas next week....
